Growing up hearing stories about her father’s alma mater, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Alexia Uribe (formerly Amick) knew she would at least need to take a campus tour. It was all it took for her to fall in love with the university’s beautiful waterfront location and its close-knit, Christ-centered community.
A Communication and Intercultural Studies double major, Uribe has experienced unique opportunities to learn from dedicated professors while growing spiritually through her coursework. These experiences extended beyond the classroom, allowing her to apply her learning in meaningful, cross-cultural settings. During Spring Break 2023, she traveled to Portugal with CMGlobal, where she used her communication training to share the love of God across cultural boundaries.
Reflecting on her time at PBA, Uribe says her God-sized dream is to “take what I have learned about people and how to communicate with people to make a difference in the world and to show God’s love.”
Now a PBA alumna, Uribe continues to build her life and calling at Palm Beach Atlantic. She works full time for the university while pursuing her Master’s degree at PBA, further deepening her connection to the campus community that first captured her heart. Recently, she also celebrated her marriage to a fellow PBA alum, marking yet another meaningful chapter in a story deeply rooted in Sailfish tradition.
